Postdoctoral/PhD Research Position in Machine Learning for Molecular Mechanics

Postdoctoral or PhD Research Position

Job Offer from February 18, 2025

We invite applications for Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD positions in the field of machine learning (ML) for molecular mechanics. This position is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of computational chemistry/physics, machine learning, and molecular modeling.

Project Description

Dr. Alice Allen is establishing a new group at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research under the directorship of Prof. Dr. Frauke Gräter. Our group specializes in developing machine learning techniques for simulating molecular systems. The Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research is a world-renowned center for cutting-edge research, providing an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment to tackle fundamental and applied challenges.

Possible project directions for the successful candidate include developing new architectures for machine learning models of molecular interactions, creating foundation machine learning interatomic potentials for simulations of reactive chemistry and modelling reactive mechanisms for biological applications.
