Gabrielle Anjani Ong
Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research
Main Focus
Gabrielle's research focuses on the functionality of synthetic organelles inside polymersomes to mimic biological cells. Using microfluidic techniques, she aims to systematically develop the complexity of compartmentalized systems and further push the boundary of artificial cell function.
Curriculum Vitae
Gabrielle earned her B.E. degree from Kyushu University, Japan, with the support of the Monbukagakusho Scholarship. She then pursued her graduate studies through the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Scholarship, obtaining an M.Sc. from Aix-Marseille University (France), Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland), and the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy), graduating with distinction. During her master's program, Gabrielle conducted her thesis research in the Self-Organising Systems Lab at Technische Universität Darmstadt, focusing on the behavior of multi-compartment systems. In October 2023, she joined the Department of Physical Chemistry of Polymers as a doctoral student.
